The 11th Borderway Agri Expo proved to be a true celebration of British livestock farming, attracting over 13,000 visitors to this leading agricultural event and showcasing the best of livestock from around the UK.
The Overall Borderway Agri-Expo 2017 Cattle Champion was Bexy-Boo, a Limousin cross heifer from first time exhibitors, Robert & Leanne Workman & family, from Larne, Northern Ireland. Reserve Champion was a 13-month-old Limousin cross bullock, named Jon Snow, owned by Dermot and Gareth Small, also from Northern Ireland.
In the sheep classes, Overall Champion went to Robert West of Park Farm Stamford Lincs with a pair of heavyweight Beltex crosses and Reserve Champion was Lancashire’s Robert Garth with a pair of lightweight Beltex crosses.
Borderway Agri Expo is one of the largest events in the UK Agri industry, showcasing the best quality beef cattle and sheep, the latest developments in farming practice, breeding, genetics, machinery, equipment, technology, environmental issues, livestock marketing and export opportunities. It is now known to be a true celebration of the very best British Livestock, and the farmers, breeders and stockmen who look after them.
Getting to Borderway Agri Expo
Whether you are coming to Borderway Agri Expo for the day or intend to stay in the area a bit longer…the following information will help plan your trip.
Location and Parking
Borderway, Carlisle is the home of Agri Expo, it is located at Rosehill, Carlisle in the County of Cumbria – Postcode CA1 2RS. There is plenty of free public car parking for all on the Borderway complex. Please follow all Borderway Agri Expo traffic/parking signs.
Car: Please exit the M6 on Junction 43 and follow the Borderway Agri Expo traffic and parking signs. The Borderway complex can be seen from the roundabout once you exit the mortorway.
Train: Carlisle Train Station is only two miles from Borderway and has regular services running from Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester & Liverpool.
Airport: whether you are flying domestically or internationally, Borderway is located approximately 60 miles west of Newcastle Airport with an estimated travel time of 1 hour, 106 miles south west of Glasgow Airport with an estimated travel time of 1hour 30 minutes, 118 miles south of Edinburgh Airport with an estimated travel time of 1hour 45 minutes, 125 miles north of Manchester Airport with an estimated travel time of 2 hours and 130 miles from Liverpool Airport with an estimated travel time of 2 hours. There are a wide range of mini bus-car hire/rental providers at the airports.
