Harrison & Hetherington Ltd – Coronavirus Update

20th March 2020

Our key message is that our livestock marts remain open for business and are operating within appropriate guidelines and adapting to the latest advice as is shared from Government and NHS guidance on COVID-19.

Our marts are vital to the food supply chain and rural economy and our business is working hard to ensure trade continues in the most effective way possible, while taking steps to safeguard our staff and customers

For the safety of our customers and staff we advise the procedures listed below are followed: –

  • Only those intending to conduct business are to come to any of the mart premises
  • Observe the strict hand hygiene procedures
  • Keep a sensible distance between yourself and others
  • Concerned sellers are encouraged to drop off their stock without entering the premises in person, contact the mart staff on arrival if you wish to be unloaded without leaving your vehicle.
  • Any person over the age of 70 or have underlying health issues is requested NOT to attend
  • Children are requested NOT to attend
  • The Mart Cafés is CLOSED until further notice

We can confirm that all Weekly and Regular Sales for week beginning Monday 23rd March will take place as scheduled at all our Marts.

The only exception is the monthly Borderway Beef Breeding sale, which due to less numbers, will now take place on Wednesday 25th March at 10.30am

Following Defra advice, we have taken the decision to cancel the Borderway Monthly Collective Sale of Machinery, Plant and Small Tools on Thursday 26th March.

We will continue to monitor Government and NHS advise around COVID-19 and will react accordingly if the present situation changes. However, we will also keep you informed on a weekly basis regarding the operation of our Markets.

In the meantime, if anyone has any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact any of our sales team, staff or office numbers or alternatively email – info@borderway.com
