Lazonby Working Dog Sale 9th May 2012

sheep dogThe annual sale of working and unbroken sheep dogs and puppies was held at Lazonby Mart on Wednesday 9th May, where a fantastic entry of 61 dogs were forward.

Dogs showing plenty ability in the field were well sought after, however some dogs found the high spirited Swaledale hoggs difficult to handle, with unbroken dogs meeting a selective demand.

Topping the sale and setting a new centre record at 4000gns was lot number 29 “Barfield Roy” consigned by M/s R Hutchinson of Valley Farm, Stainmore Road, Bowes, this dog showed an abundance of style and ability throughout his run and met spirited bidding from the offset. The winning bid came from M/s Stobbart of Croglin High Hall.

Working dogs levelled up at £1690.50 (+386.75) and unbroken dogs averaged £193.20 (+£73.03).
