British Blues sold to a top of 6,600gns at the Border British Blue Clubs’ 31st Annual Autumn Sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday 2nd October 2020.
Top call came for, Blue Stone Noel, a powerful, nearly all black, 2 year old son by Tenace De La Praule and out of Blue Stone Heiress. Noel was consigned by T Dylan Rees, Llwynihirion, Crymych and was knocked down for 6,600gns to M Stevenson, Balcamie Farm, Girvan, Ayrshire.
Next in the price ratings on 6,200gns, was Border club enthusiasts H & S Maudsley, Littlebank Bungalow, Settle with Littlebank Ned ET, a July 2018 born son from the Farouk De St Amand & Littlebank Kimberley flush. Signing the cheque was RH & M Boyren, Hill Park Farm, Ulverson. Messrs Maudsley also win the Border British Blue Club Trophy for the highest price animal owned by a member of the Border Club.
Also hitting the high spots was GL Morgan, The Cider Mill, Tillington with Almeley Nut Cracker, an August 2018 son of Pinnacle Hero and out of Almeley Goldilocks. He was knocked down for 6,000gns to A & F Baillie, Low Glasnick Farm, Newton Stewart.
Also from the same home was Almeley Novak ET, a 28 month old bull from the Almeley Arlequin and Rosemount Faith flush. Ned found his new home with DC Rees & Son, Pencrug Farm, Brecon, Powys at 5,800gns
Leading the ladies was Pendle Ola ET who was bred & exhibited by AM & E Hartley, Pendle Valley Farm, Nelson. Ola is from the Dafydd d’Ochain and Pendle E By Gum flush. This sweet blue and white Januay 2019 born heifer was snapped up by J Crowther, Making Farm, Sowerby Bridge.
