On Monday 29th April Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their weekly sale of breeding sheep.
Trade saw a steady start for ewes and lambs, however prices improved throughout the sale.
Topping the trade was a tremendous Suffolk cross ewes with twin Texel lambs at foot selling to £73 per head or £219 per unit from Messrs Bell, Woodhall, Bardon Mill, Hexham.
Trade proved strong for Continental cross ewes with ¾ bred lambs, selling to £72 for Texels from Messrs Kirk, Glasson Farm, Wigton.
Mule Ewes and lambs also sold dearer on the week topping at £70.50 for Mule hoggs with lambs from Messrs Armstrong, Croft House, Penrith.
Large numbers of units are expected for next week’s sale, seeing a very buoyant trade forecasted.
