At Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Monday 1st June Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of breeding sheep.
A small entry of ewe and lambs were on offer, with trade being slightly back on the week, due to the lack of grass, and the recent dry weather.
Quality units still sold well, with Messrs Carr, Little Bavington, Capheaton selling a run of Beltex Hoggs with lambs to a top of £138 per life. Mule hoggs were also in demand with pens of twins selling to £71 per life from Messrs Smith & Shepherd, Glebelands, Appleby In Westmoorland. With other twin outfits to £70 from Messrs Kidd, Briggle Farm.
