On Monday 18th February, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their weekly sale store sheep.
An entry of 300 hoggs were forward and were met by a good trade throughout. Topping the sale was a pen of Dutch Texels selling for £78.50 from Messrs TP Wigham, Hargill House. Beltex topped at £72 for a sweet pen from Mr D Boyes, Howgate. Mules met a good enquiry, selling to £65 for a pen of 26 from Messrs Marrs, Manor Farm.
Next week’s breeding sheep sale will include 30 Texel cross hoggs from Messrs Kidd, Briggle Farm, a consignment of pure Texels from Messrs Dunlop, Searigg and a major reduction of 47 Beltex and Texel cross shearlings from Messrs Cowen, Itonfield.
