Borderway Sale of Store & Weaning Cattle

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had 826 head at their Weekly Wednesday Sale, comprising of 500 Store Cattle,  Bulls and Stirks,  250 Calves and 76 dairy cattle in the Borderway Monthly Dairy day.

A great show of cattle were forward in every ring and once again all classes of cattle were keenly bid for by a large company of buyers.

STORE CATTLE – Store cattle met a great demand with a packed ringside of buyers week on week.  All classes were a flying trade and the sale topped at £1335 for both bullocks and heifers.  The top priced bullock was a fantastic British Blue x shown by Messrs Lloyd, Fishergill, Aikton, Wigton, and in the heifer section a fabulous Limousin x heifer from Messrs Robinson, Pelutho Park, Wigton  both achieving the same price.

WEANERS- A smaller show of 220 stirks and bulls were forward with trade for all classes being much improved on the week.  Messrs Norman, Low Moorhouse Farm run of 10-12 month old Limousin bulls topped at £1140 and £1105.  Messrs Willey, Broomfield Farm, run of bulls topped at £1125 for a 13 month old Charolais bull.
