Also this day was the Dairy Dispersal of the Genista Holstein Herd on behalf of Messrs Broome, Home Farm, Solsgirth, Clackmannanshire.
STORE CATTLE – A good entry of 315 store cattle with trade very similar on week with younger and plainer sorts being well sold. The sale topped at £1185 for a Limousin x bullock from JS & J Whitfield, Orton Rigg, Great Orton. Heifers peaked at £1130 for a Limousin x heifer from JW & G Roe, Reservoir Farm, and bulls saw a top of £1180 for a Charolais bull from P A Kermode, Orrisdale Farm,

WEANED CATTLE: A much improved show of weanlings were forward with a large ring side of buyers ensured a great trade for all classes of bullock and heifers. Messrs Proctor, Swarland Old Hall sold a nine month old Limousin bull for £1100. Messrs Lochhead, St Ninians Grove sold the top priced Charolais x bullock for £1000. Top heifer price of £930 was achieved twice firstly for a Limousin x heifer from Mr Stephenson, West Causeway Head and secondly a British Blue from Mr Branthwaite, Eskett View, Frizington
