On Monday 3rd September, Borderway Mart held their annual show and sale of store lambs. The show was ably judged by Mr James Wanp, Heaton Hall, Lancashire who awarded the top accolade to Messrs Oliver, Walton Woodhead, Brampton with a consignment of 25 Beltex cross lambs which later sold for £81.50. The reserve ticket was awarded to Dutch Texel lambs from last year’s winner, Messrs Bell, High Fell, Brampton who topped the day’s prices at £84 per head for a pen of 20. Many more could have been sold.
