On Monday 11th March Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their weekly sale of store and breeding sheep.
STORE SHEEP: The weekly sale of store sheep had a smaller show forward. Topping the trade at £74 was Mr Stephen Harrington, Sleightholme Farm, Newton Arlish with a pen of Beltex cross hoggs.

BREEDING SHEEP: Following the store sheep sale, was the sale of breeding sheep, which also had a small offering of entries forward.
Messrs McCrone, Beechcroft Farm, Ivegill had a run of black Texel cross in lamb hoggs, which topped at £100 for two separate pens.
A larger number of ewes and lambs came forward, topping this section at £78 was a pen of Suffolk cross shearlings with lambs from Messrs Ramsay, Dockray Hall, Wigton. Messrs Ramsay also sold other pens to £76, £72 and £70 per life, with his whole consignment averaging £68.54.
Messrs Irving, Anthorn Farm, Wigton had their annual consignment of draft ewes with lambs, seeing the run of Lleyn x ewes peaking at £64 for singles and correct below with twins selling to £60, Messrs Irving’s annual consignment sold £1.18 up on the year.
