Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 2nd March Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store and breeding sheep.

STORE SHEEP: A smaller entry of store hoggs were forward at the weekly sale. Topping the trade at £91 per head was a consignment of Beltex hoggs from Messrs Bell, Holmewrangle Farm, Armathwatie. Messrs Scott, Seat House sold a pen of Texel cross hoggs for £90. A tremendous run of Swaledale hoggs were forward from Messrs Bell, The Wath, Caldbeck seeing a pen of 28 selling for £67.50.

BREEDING SHEEP: Following the stores saw the annual consignment from Messrs Kidd, Briggle Farm with a run of in lamb Texel x hoggs selling to £130 and averaging up at £119.

Leading prices per head: Ewe Lambs: Texel £130, £122, £114 (x2), £110 Briggle Farm.
