At Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Monday 20th July Harrison & Hetherington held their opening sale of store lambs.
A mixed show of lambs were forward, to a good ringside of buyers, whereby stronger types met a greater demand. Topping the sale at £59 twice for two good pens of Beltex consigned by Messrs LC Walton of Goodie Hill Cottage, Great Asby. Many more good quality lambs were achieving a respectable price of £57 and upwards.
Demand was also high for small running lambs making £46 plus. Many more sheep could have been sold with ease with more needed for future weeks.
