At Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Monday 21st October Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of Store & Breeding sheep.
STORE SHEEP: A larger entry of store lambs were once again forward and trade proved slightly easier for small and second grade sheep, however size and quality was again selling with ease.
Topping the trade was a pen of 16 Beltex lambs from Messrs H&T Wood, Well Head who went on to sell for £96 per head.

BREEDING RAM SALE:
BLUEFACED LEICESTER 2nd RAM SALE
This was the second sale of Bluefaced Leicester rams to take place this season. A show of 100 rams were forward with trade being dearer on the previous sale for better type sheep.
Topping the sale was a lamb offered by Mr R Wilson, Carrholme which went for £450 to Messrs Thornton & Son, Ravenglass. The same vendor also had the next leading price tag at £380 for a lamb which was knocked down to McNabney Farms, Newton Stewart.
Heading up the shearling entries was a shearling which sold for £350 from Messrs Hewson, Burgh by Sands and went to Messrs Teasdale, Threlkeld.
A good run of rams were forward to a busy ringside of bidders.

OTHER BREEDING RAMS- A good entry of 150 rams were presented to a good ringside of buyers, which saw all classes being well bid for.
Topping the sale was a Texel shearling from R & A Harrison which sold for £350 to Mr C Bennison. Following at £300 was a Texel shearling shown by GJ Toppin, Basco Dyke and was sold to Mrs Bell, Maryport.
Suffolks were bid to £280 for a shearling offered by Messrs Hewson, Burgh by Sands and was sold to Mr J Thompson.
