Borderway Store and Weaned Cattle Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had forward 1054 head of cattle consisting of 441 catalogued Store Cattle, 250 Un-entered Store Bulls and Stirks and 363 Calves.

Cattle of all classes continue to sell well.

STORE CATTLE – At the weekly sale 441 store cattle were forward with a plainer entry on the week which was met with plenty of demand from a ringside of over 30 active buyers.

The sale topped at £1300 for an outstanding Limousin x heifer consigned by Messrs T W Wigham & Son, Coldshields, Haltwhistle.

Bullocks sold to £1245 for a great Charolais x sold by Messrs J & M Beattie, Shield Green, Kirklinton,   All classes easily sold in Borderway, please advise entries to the Auctioneers.

WEANERS-  A large show of 250 weanlings were forward with less buyers around resulting in trade being less throughout.  Messrs Hall, Harelawhill Farm run of bulls topped at £1070 for a ten month old Limousin x.  Messrs Henshall, Sarkshield Farm run of Limousin bulls topped at £960 for a nine month old bull.  Messrs Wigham, Hargill House Limousin x bulls topped at £940 for an eleven month old.  Messrs Ivison, Cooper House Farm sold two Charolais x bullock at 11months of age for £950 and a 9 month old heifer for £890.
