Borderway Store and Weaned Cattle Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had an entry of 1132  head of cattle at their sale at Borderway, comprising of 780 catalogued Store Cattle, un-entered Store Bulls and Stirks,   240 Calves and 112 Dairy cows at the Border and Lakeland monthly Club Sale. As well as the regular buyers together with some new purchasers ensured all rings were an excellent trade.

STORE CATTLE –   Yet another excellent entry of 556 strong stores whereby all classes met a marvellous trade and dearer to that of last week.  Top overall was a British Blue cross steer from Messrs Lloyd, Fishergill, Wigton selling to £1390.  Limousins sold to £1280 from Messrs Dickinson, Low House, Wigton and £1275 from Messrs Graham, Cumdivock, Carlisle.  Charolais crosses to £1270 from Messrs Bell, Westnewton Hall, Wigton and Aberdeen Angus crosses to £1250 from Messrs Holliday, New Bampton, Wigton,

Heifers peaked at £1285 from Messrs Wilkinson, Arkleby House,  Wigton for a Limousin and £1270 for another from Messrs Benson, Spawell, Wigton and Messrs Jefferson, Aspatria Hall, Wigton sold a very good pen of 3 young crosses to £1190.  British Blues sold to £1210 from Messrs Lloyd, Fishergill, Wigton and £1200 from Messrs Harrington, Grange Grassing, Wigton.  Aberdeen Angus peaked at £1100 for a pen of three from Messrs Hunter, Stoneraise Place, Wigton and finally black and whites peaked at £1070 for a pen from Messrs Atkinson, Hawkrigg, Appleby and Friesians to £950 for a pen from Messrs R & E Hodgson White House, Penrith.  Many more could have been sold.  Please advise entries for next week’s sale.
