Borderway Store and Weaned Cattle Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had forward 730 head of cattle at their Weekly Wednesday Sale of cattle at Borderway comprising of 436 catalogued Store cattle and Un-entered Store bulls and Stirks and 294 Calves.

A useful entry of cattle in every section met a strong demand as a large contingent of buyers for all classes continue to attend every week.

STORE CATTLE – The weekly Store cattle sale had 253 head sold.  Trade for all types was positive with plenty of buyers ringside, small plainer sorts inparticular sold far beyond recent rates.  The sale topped at £1235 for a fantastic Charolais x bullock shown by Messrs JA & LA Thompson, Wood Head, Scaleby.  Heifers peaked at £1085 on two occasions both for Limousins consigned by Messrs J & S Roe, Croft House, Burgh by Sands.

WEANED CATTLE: A larger show of mixed quality weaned cattle were presented to a very busy ring side of buyers. Top price on the day was a Limousin bull from Messrs Cowan, The Ash, Roadhead topping at £980 with another selling at £930.  Grazing cattle once again sold very well seeing all cattle very competitively bid for.
