Borderway Store and Weaned Cattle Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had an entry of 947 Cattle at their Weekly Wednesday Sale at Borderway, comprising of 720 catalogued Store Cattle, Un-entered Young Bulls and Stirks and 227 Calves.

STORE CATTLE – An entry of 428 store cattle were forward with all classes maintaining recent high rates despite finished cattle seeing a slight decline in price.  The sale topped at £1345 for a fantastic Limousin x heifer which was consigned by Messrs W McKie, Laurence Holme, Wigton.  Bullocks sold to £1300 for a great Simmental x from Messrs KH & RJ Crayston, Sheepfields, Seascale.  More cattle are required next week to satisfy demand.

WEANERS-  A large show of 292 were forward with all classes being good to sell.  Messrs Reid, Kirkburn run of Limousin x bulls topped at £1020 for an 8 month old bull.  Messrs Watters, Holly House sold a 10 month old Limousin Bull for £980.  Messrs Clegg & Bennett, Tongue House run of 8 month old Limousin x and British Blue x bullocks and heifers topped at £960 for a British Blue heifer and £960 for a Limousin bullock.
