Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

4th September 2019

On Wednesday 4th September, Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of young calves. A larger entry of 310 calves were forward with all classes of calves cheaper than previous weeks.  The prices reflect the declining beef trade nationwide which reduces confidence in the calf industry.  Top price was strong British Blue bull from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown, Longtown selling to £420.  Black and whites were harder to cash with strong calves noticeably cheaper.
