Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 11th September, Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of young calves. A smaller show of 234 forward with beef calves continuing be hard to sell especially continental heifers.  Top price was £395 for a shapely British Blue from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower, Great Orton.   All classes of black and whites were sharper on the week with new buyers forward for all ages and quality.  Top price was £230 for a strong Holstein Friesian from Messrs Campbell Carsewalloch Farm, Newton Stewart.
