Broughton Annual Suckled Calf Sale

At Broughton Market on Tuesday 13th October Harrison & Hetherington held their annual sale of suckled calves.

A strong catalogued entry of suckled calves were forward with all classes being strongly bid for.

Top prices of the day was paid for a Blonde from Alison Ellwood, Everard Lodge Farm, Lowick Green, topping at £1110, closely followed by another Blonde selling to £1100, from the same farm.

There was no show held this year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, however the Mrs Marion Sherwen Cup was awarded to the top priced calf born in 2020, this was presented to Messrs Holland, Low Scales, Millom who sold a tremendous Charolais cross steer to secure the top price of £910.
