Carlisle Dutch Texel Show & Sale

Topping the annual Dutch Texel Show and Sale held at Carlisle was the ram lamb Arkle Bandit from local consignor GH & GG Wilkinson.  This lamb sired by the imported Ypres 3070.1284 was sold for 3000gns to Messrs Oare from Flintshire.

Lot 74 top price 3000gns

Christopher Harper’s The Neuk flock was responsible for the next best price. A shearling ram sired by Turbo Welsh Boy that sold for 1500gns.  This was HNK1700143 who had won 2nd prize in his class at the pre-sale show and went on to be purchased by Messrs Haggas from Skipton.

The Overall Championship was won by the 1st prize shearling gimmer CKU1702371 from Mr & Mrs Clough’s Raindale flock who went on to sell for 1000gns. Sired by Raindale Won and out of a homebred ewe this gimmer was purchased by Messrs Strickland from Lancaster.

Lot 85 Champion 1000gns

SHC & JB Rawlings’ Wiston Apeldoorn won the shearling ram class and sold for 950gns to Messrs Kirkbride from Maryport. This ram was sired by Wiston Willowby  and out of a homebred Wiston ewe.

Two rams sold for 900gns this first of these was a shearling ram from Mr & Mrs Clough who has been 3rd in his pre-sale show class. Like the Overall Champion and top priced female from the same flock he was also sired by Raindale Won. The successful bidder on this occasion was Messrs Lancaster from Easingworld.

Steven Wigham was the vendor of the other at 900gns, Hargill Atomic, a shearling ram sired by Woodies Texels Weapon and out of a homebred ewe by Turbo Topper. He was purchased by Messrs Dalton from Brampton.
