Carlisle Sale of Store Cattle & Weanlings

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had forward over 1100 head of cattle at their Weekly Wednesday Sale comprising of 587 catalogued store cattle and un-entered weanlings, 374 calves and 188 dairy cattle forward for the monthly dairy day.

All classes of rearing, store, feeding and dairy cattle, met a very keen enquiry and with a huge company of buyers operating in 3 sale rings many more could have been sold to advantage.

With two Wednesday sales at Carlisle before Christmas, call the sales team to take advantage of a very strong demand for every class of cattle before the festive season.

STORE CATTLE – A good show of store cattle were forward at the weekly sale where all classes of cattle were good to sell and were dearer than the previous week.  Topping the sale was a superb Limousin steer consigned by TH & PA Johnstone, Westray Farm, Cockermouth achieving £1200.

WEANED CATTLE: A good entry of 194 weaners were forward with a better show on offer resulting in a great demand throughout.  Messrs Ivinson, Cooper House Farm sold an outstanding Charolais heifer for £1020.  Messrs Milligan, Micklam Cottages sold a Limousin x heifer for £995.  Messsrs Cowx & Son, Hudscales sold two outstanding Limousin x bulls at 8 months of age for £910.
