Inshanks Ayrshires Sell In The Snow
The weather conditions were less than ideal for the dispersal sale of the Inshanks Ayrshire herd with almost a foot of snow at Borderway, Carlisle and many major and minor roads closed it meant many potential buyers could not travel.
Despite these challenging conditions there was a reasonable trade for these hardy robust cattle. They had travelled from the Rhins of Galloway peninsula, the most southerly part of Scotland. The McClymont family have been farming there for many generations and recently sold their farms.
Topping the trade at 1,500gns was a young dry cow coming with her second. She was from the Donna cow family and had the best udder and feet in legs in the sale. She was purchased by Keith Stoddart, The Lilacs, Carlilse.
The McClymont family would like to thank everyone who supported their sale and wish them success with their purchases.
