Friday’s Kelso Christmas Cracker sale of in-lamb gimmers lived up to expectations, resulting in a 6000gns peak, with this bid coming late in the sale for a gimmer from the Robex flock of Robert Rennie.
The sale topper, RBX1706187, is a triplet-born daughter of Teiglum Stifler out of a dam by Millar’s Monty and going back to Tweed Fullbodied. She sold in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter and was knocked down to Gary Beacom, Northern Ireland.
Second best at 4500gns was another from the same home and selling to the same buyer. This was RBX171706192, a Brijon You Beauty daughter out of another Stifler-sired dam and again in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter.
After that came a 3800gns call for the best of the sale from the Arnott family’s Haymount flock. This was AWJ1701263, a twin-born daughter of Auldhouseburn Warlord and out of a Scrogton Powerhouse daughter. Sold in-lamb to Plasucha Boss Man and with an index of 269, she was bought by Esmor Evans, Mold.
Two then sold at 3000gns, with both of these coming from the Robex pen. First at this money was RBX1706172, a Brijon Yankee daughter out of a dam by Beeford Pimpernel and in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter. She was another heading to Northern Ireland with Gary Beacom.
And Mr Beacom then paid the same money for RBX171706170, a Brijon Yowser daughter ouf of a Teiglum Stifler-sired dam. She was another in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter.
Following that came a trio at 2800gns, with the first being the the very first lot of the sale from John Elliot’s Roxburgh flock. This was EJR1703499, a Kimbolton Va Va Voom daughter out of a dam by Goldies Supreme and selling with an index of 622. Sold in-lamb to the 40,000gns Lanark and Royal Highland champion Haddo Balvenie, he was bought by Ken Hodges, Moberley, Cheshire.
Second at this price was another Robex gimmer from Robert Rennie,. RBX1706169. This Brijon Yowesr daughter is out of a dam by Teiglum Stilfer and goes back to Langisde Opinion. She sold in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter. She was another which joined the boat back to Northern Ireland with Gary Beacom.
And the final 2800gns came from Mr Beacom too when he bought another Robex gimmer, RBX1706186. This triplet-born daughter is by Teiglum Stifler and out fo a Millar’s Monty-sired dam. She also sold in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter.
Another from the same home then sold at 2600gns, with this being the Brijon Yankee daughter RBX1706173. She’s out of a dam by Beeford Pimpernel and was again in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter. She was bought by Duncan MacNiven, Glenfarg, Perthshire.
Gary Beacom was then back in action when buying two gimmers at 2000gns apiece. The first of these was AWJ1701256 from the Arnott family’s Haymount pen. This auldhouseburn Warlord daughter is out of an Ettrick Tartan Special daughter and sold in-lamb to this year’s Kelso sale topper Garngour Ambassador.
The second at 2000gns bought by Mr Beacom was RBX1706181 from Robert Rennie. Sired by Brijon Yankee, she is out of a Teiglum Stifler-sired dam and was again in-lamb to Duhonw You Belter.
