Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their early spring Beef Breeding sale.
Topping the sale at £3700 was a Limousin cross heifer with Limousin heifer calf at foot from Messrs Brannen, Scar Top, Newbiggin which was bought by Messrs Harryman, Keskadale Farm, Keswick.
In-calf heifers topped at £2900 for a Limousin cross from Messrs Bradley, Penny Grange, Settle which was bought by Messrs Bennett, Keighley.
Cow and calves sold to £3200 for a British Blue cross second calver with Limousin Heifer calf at foot consigned by Messrs Hunter, Upper Brydekirk, Annan which sold to Messrs Harryman, Keskadale. The three outfits from Upper Brydekirk sold to average £3183.34.
Messrs Bradley, Penny Grange sold their annual consignment of 15 Limousin and British Blue cross in-calf heifers to average £2470.
Trade for all classes of Beef Breeding Cattle was off the clock, with plenty of potential buyers looking for breeding cattle and many leaving empty handed.
