On Tuesday at Kirkby Stephen Mart, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held a breeding sheep reduction sale for Colin and Jennifer Skidmore, Needless Hall Farm, Toronto which saw 100 Beltex cross Texel in-lamb shearlings being put on offer.
The sheep were turned out in fantastic condition and were of top quality breeding.
Topping the sale at £290 was a single shearling in-lamb to the Beltex with twins which sold to Messrs Campbell, Chathill, Northumberland.
Second highest price achieved was £265 for a pen of 5 shearlings which also sold to Messrs Campbell. A further three pens of 7 sold for £250 with the whole consignment of 100 selling to average £223.14.
