Lazonby Annual show & sale of Mule Gimmer Shearlings

On Thursday 12th September 2019 Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their annual show & sale of Mule Gimmer Shearlings, 2 shears and Ewe lambs within Lazonby Auction Mart.

The pre-sale show was kindly sponsored by NB UK, Brian Johnston Livestock Haulage and Murray Farmcare and very ably conducted by local enthusiasts and father and daughter team Mike and Marie Faulder who had a great show of sheep in front of them, they awarded the MJ Davidson Trophy and Championship Rosette to the leading pen of 15 from regular supporters Messrs JJ&E Lawson & Son, Hundith House, Threapland, this fabulous pen went on to sell at the days top price of £165 selling to Mr G Mitchell.

Winning the Richard Hodgson Cup for the best pen of Gimmer lambs was Messrs RJ Bell & Son, Scarrowmanwick with a tremendous pen of 10 lambs topped the section at £128 to Messrs Rutherford.

This year’s top flock average went to Messrs JJ&E Lawson, Hundith House who averaged £148.86 for a fantastic run of sheep.

Noted runs with regular customers met a sharp trade throughout with the sale seeing a rise of £4.32 to average £128.50.
