Lazonby Gimmer Lamb Sale

On Wednesday 30th October 2019, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Fourth Sale of Mule Gimmer lambs along with breeding sheep and tups. The sale drew a great entry of 2195 head, seeing 638 more sold on the year.

Mule lambs again met spirited bidding averaging £63.17 (+£4.69).

These topped at £76, £75 from M/s Gate, Low House, Sunderland; £76, £71 from M/s Lord, The Bog, Slaggyford and £76 from M/s Wallace, Farneyshields, Ninebanks.

A great feature of the sale was the Flock Dispersal of 400 Mule, Continental & Suffolk ewes & ewe lambs on behalf of MJ & SE Watt, Field Garth who have been great supporters of the mart. This section drew fantastic local support and topped at £150 for a pen of 2/3 crop Texel cross ewes which sold to W C Bell, Low Houses, Brampton.

M/s Watt also topped the Tups at £230 with a Texel tup lamb.

Swaledales sold to £86 for a pen of Shearlings from M/s Reed Partners, Dyke Nook.
