Lazonby Store Lamb Sale

On Thursday 3rd September Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their fortnightly sale of store lambs which drew a fantastic entry of 1421 head.

The trade was described as the dearest seen anywhere this season posting an average of £73.22 with over 50 per cent of the sale being Mules or hill breeds!

The sale topped at £115 for some fantastic three quarter bred Texel cross lambs from Messrs Pearson, Fairhill, Alston, a further 33 pens of lambs broke the £80 barrier.

Suffolks sold to £95 for a strong pen from Messrs Neve, Haining House who also topped the Mules at an eyewatering £96!

More numbers required next sale to satisfy demand, with the next sale being Thursday 17th September.
