Lincoln Red Cattle Society Spring Show & Sale

The inaugural Lincoln Red Cattle Society Spring Sale last Friday at Carlisle saw the 1st prize bull and Overall Champion Ballyvaddy Warlord P4292 sell for the top price of 1800gns. Consigned by Messrs T & K Madden from Ballymena this bull was sired by Cockerington Earl and out of Harrington Marigold. The successful purchaser was Messrs Mylius & Partners from Fife.

Females sold to a top of 1480gns for the 2nd prize heifer Ballyvaddy Treasure W867 also from Messrs Madden. Treasure, a November 2017 born heifer, was sired by Ballyvaddy Saracen and out of Hemingby Treasure. She was purchased by Messrs Hammond from Harrogate.

Messrs Hammond purchased a further two heifers both from Messrs Mylius’ St Fort herd. The first of these was the 3rd prize winning St Fort Waitress W731 sired by Beverley Noble who sold for 1350gns and also by the same sire St Fort Hetty sold for 980gns.

Averages 1 Bull £1890; 6 Maiden Heifers £1060.50
