At Lockerbie Mart on Monday 5th November, Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of Primestock, where 445 prime lambs and 22 cast cows were sold.
Prime Sheep: Prime lambs were a mixed show and the better fed lambs were dearer, selling to average 162.8ppk. Top price per head went to Messrs A E Hyslop & Son of Annanhill with a pen of Charollais which sold to £93. Top price per kilo went to a consignment of Texels from Messrs J H Strawhorn & Son of Dalmakether, selling to a top of 188.9ppk. More lambs are required with plenty of buyers in attendance.

Cast Cows: Cast cows were dearer on the week, selling to a top of £1015 for two Limousin cross cows from R Robson & Partners of Laverock Hall and G & W Halliday of Crawthat, Holstein Friesians sold to £885 from Gotterbie.
