On Tuesday 4th August Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Mart.
Trade was once again very pleasing for all types of cattle with stronger stores selling extremely well due to a heathier finishing trade. Bullocks topped at £1335 for an Aberdeen Angus from Messrs McGarva, Barwhanny Farm. The same vendor also had bullocks at £1190 and £1080. Limousin bullocks topped at £1125 and £1095 from Messrs Henderson, Cleuchbrae Mill.
Heifers were up to 220 ppk for Limousin from Messrs Common, Crossdykes and again 220 ppk for Shorthorns and Charolais from Messrs Spence of South Corrielaw.
The next store cattle sale at Lockerbie is in two week’s time on Tuesday 18th August. Please advise entries to auctioneer Joel McGarva 07909985770.
