On Tuesday, 3rd April Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Auction Mart.
A smaller sale however trade was outstanding and more cattle could easily of been sold.
Topping the price per kilo in the heifer section at 287.7p was a Hereford from Messrs Scott, Copeland. Top pence per kilo bullock was 284.6p for a British Blue sold by R Johnson, Kimmeter Green.
Limousin bullocks sold to £1150 for an excellent steer from DA Wilson, Belzies, Loachmaben. Charolais were also a good trade with a heifer from Gretna House Farming making £1305.
The next store cattle sale at Lockerbie will be on the 17th April and is also the Annual Fair Day Show and Sale. Please advise entries to the auctioneers.
