On Tuesday, 21st August Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Auction Mart.
A good entry of 50 cattle were presented to a busy ringside of buyers. Bullocks were a strong trade with a pen of three Simmentals topping at £1040 from Messrs Richardson, Purdomstone. Limousins topped at £925 for a good shapey steer from W Halliday of Capelfoot.
Heifers also sold well, £750 for a Charolais from R Johnston, Kimmeter Green and again £750 for a pen of six good Limousins from W Halliday were among some of the prices.
Bullocks topped at 228.8ppk for a pen of four Limousins while heifers topped at 215ppk for a pair of British Blue stirks from L Boyes, Millbank.
All types of cattle sold well and are definitely in demand for our next sale on Tuesday 4th September please advise entries to the auctioneers.
