On Tuesday 13th March 2018 Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Middleton-In-Teesdale Mart held its early spring sale of 110 store steer and heifers
A huge congratulation to all vendors who despite the recent weather did such a superb job of presenting such a top quality show.
Topping today’s sale was a Limousin steer from M Watson, Stoney Hill who sold this stylish steer to RA Baxter, Slosh Farm, Appleby for a total of £1045. A good ringside of buyers saw good shapely sorts well bid for and regularly sold for over the £950 mark.
Topping the heifers was again another well shaped Limousin this time coming from R Walton, Eller Gill Barn this time selling to regular purchaser AD&A Richardson, Low Bank End Farm, Appleby for £1035.
A good ringside of buyers were present, many leaving without numbers required.
A lot more could have been sold to the vendor’s advantage.
Steers averaged £933 (plus £62); Heifer averaged £840 (plus £38)
