Middleton Sale of Suckled Calves & Store Lambs

STORE CATTLE

On Tuesday 6th October Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held a new sale of suckled calves and store lambs. A total of 53 store cattle were forward and met strong demand throughout with many customers wishing to purchase good quality cattle. Topping the sale was a Limousin steer from Messrs Tarn, Toft House selling to £1040. Messrs Bainbridge sold a good run of strong Limousin bullocks to £1000. Heifers topped at £925 from the same home.

STORE SHEEP

A great show of 500 store lambs were presented to a good ringside of buyers for the second sale of the season. Topping the sale were a pen of Beltex lambs from Messrs Hutchinson, High Dyke at £70. The highlight of the sale came from Messrs Collinson, Eastgate selling 122 lambs at £40. A lot more could be sold to vendor’s advantage
