Newark Blue Texel Sale

The Blue Texel Sheep Society held their inaugural female sale at Newark Mart on Saturday as part of the Spring Selection Sheep Fair.

Topping the section at 650gns was R Mawer with Premier Buttercup, a 2017 born ewe with her CJ’s Balmoral sired ewe lamb at foot.  This ewe was sired by CJ’s Yahoo and out of the Whatmore Siren daughter Whatmore Xotic. This unit was purchased by Messrs Davies from Abergele.

The same purchaser also bought another ewe and lamb from Messrs Mawer, this was a Stonycroft bred ewe by a Millside ram and she sold with her CJ’s Yahoo sired ram lamb at foot for 450gns.

Cameron Cormack and Gaynor McDowell sold a Blue Stone bred ewe BMG/13/00008 with her ram lamb at foot for 620gns.  The ewe sired by Blue Stone MBG/11/00002 and out of Millenium Hetty sold with her Sams Blaze sired lamb CJ’s Dambuster and was purchased by Messrs Bostock from Sheffield.

Cameron and Gaynor also sold another ewe for 600gns to Messrs Townsend from Buxton. This was the 2015 born Hackney Yes bred by Tippetts and Williams, she was sired by Sunnybank Wild Thing and out of an imported dam. Her ewe lamb at foot CJ’s Daisy was also sired by Sams Blaze.
