Retiral Sale from the Rugley Texel Flock

The Retiral Sale of the Rugley Texel flock on behalf of Alan and Lorna Jackson was held at Carlisle on Monday where just under 100 quality ewes and gimmers were offered for sale.

Topping the sale at 2000gns was a gimmer sired by Cambwell Trademark and out of a Beeford Warrior sired ewe. This gimmer has been scanned in lamb to Corriecravie Benchmark who was purchased for 3600gns at NSA Builth Wells. She was purchased by Messrs Smith from Alford, Aberdeenshire.

Selling for the next top price of 1600gns was a 1 crop ewe by private purchase Hightecs Yorick, who has an index in the top 1%. She was sold carrying a single to 9000gn Mullan Chancellor and went home with Messrs Crighton, Berwick-Upon Tweed.

Following at 1000gns was a Beeford Warrior daughter, this time a 2016 ewe out of a Rugley Norman dam. She sold carrying a single to Corriecravie Benchmark, and joins the Mershott flock, for Messrs Brooke, Berwick.

Close behind at 900gns is another 1 crop ewe by Hightecs Yorick, her index ranks in the top 1% of the breed. She sold carrying a single to Mullans Chancellor and sold to Messrs Crighton.

Taking a bid for 800gns was Messrs Smith again, this time for a Rugley Adoins gimmer out of an Avon Vale Real Deal daughter. She was in lamb to the 264 index Corriecravie Benchmark.

A 2016 born ewe by Rugley Winner, son of 3500gn Roxburgh Shot Gun Willie, followed with the next best price of 750gs. Her high Index of 365 pleased the eye of Messrs Gray, and joins his Almatt flock, in Morpeth.

Also selling at 7500gs is another Rugley Adonis daughter. She was scanned for twins to Corriecravie Benchmark and also joins the Mersott flock of Messrs Brooke.
