Marking A lifetime’s Dedication and Commitment to Newtown St Boswells Auction Mart

On Thursday 20^th October, 50 years of service to St Boswells Auction Mart will be celebrated with a special presentation to Auctioneer Billy Stott, just prior to the Store Cattle Sale

Billy Stott has dedicated his lifetime’s work to both the John Swan and Harrison & Hetherington business, and his career milestone will be marked at 11.00am, on Thursday 20^th October at St Boswells Auction Mart.

This presentation for Billy’s 50 years of service will be made by farmer and  Vice Chair of the Board for H&H Group  Will Hamilton.

Billy has established himself as one of the most respected and renowned auctioneers in Scotland  and he is very much a part of the mart’s fixtures and fittings. Today he continues to play a vital part in his role as an ambassador for H&H, a schoolmaster to the next generation, attending sale days and maintaining close contact and key relationships with customers.

When recently speaking of Billy, Will  said: “In his understated way, the work ethic, sense of decency and professionalism that he has shown have made such a valuable contribution to the Newtown St Boswells operation.”
