BUTCHERS STRIKE GOLD AT ST BOSWELLS

At the recent Scottish Craft Butcher Industry Awards some St Boswells Mart stalwarts claimed some of the top prizes.

In the Ribeye steak category Gold awards were handed out to WP Tulloch, Paisley and David Comrie & Son, Comrie. Whilst Briggsy’s Butchers, Jedburgh walked away with a silver award.

WP Tulloch claimed the coveted Gold accolade with an Angus.x Heifer finished by Alan & Robert Lamont, Dunslaw.

David Comrie & Son achieved Gold a limousin.x heifer brought forward by Jamie & Gina Allen, Longnewton.

Briggsy’s Butchers attained Silver with an Angus.x Heifer from Neil & Michael Gibson, Willowford

It is testament to the regular quality that is showcased in St Boswells Mart every Monday, which sees butchers and wholesalers from across Scotland and the North of England come to buy the best beef the Borders and Lothians have to offer.

It also speaks volumes to the skill, craft and dedication of these butchers to convert this excellent produce into prize winning fare.
