Borderway Late August Breeding sheep Fair

On Friday 20^th August Harrison & Hetherington held their late August sale of 1206 Breeding ewes and rams where trade for yearly consigners was flying.  Topping todays sale at £300 were four fantastic Texel shearlings from Messrs Hastings, Kincroft, this cracking run of ewes sold to average £282.22. Messrs Harrison, Aldermanseat sold their annual consignment of 90 top quality Texel x Mule shearling to a top of £222 and averaged £208.17, £33 up on the year.  Another annual consignment from Messrs Irving, East Cliff Farm of Suffolk x 2 shear ewes sold to a top of £212, £32 up on the year to Messrs Oliver, Whitehouse.  Messrs

Batty, Flimby Hall topped todays Mule section for his pen of 20 2 shear ewes selling to £180, up £35 on the year.  Shearlings that hadn’t had lambs proved harder to cash topping at £205 from Courthill Farming for their Texel shearling gimmers, this run of 63 sold to average £190, up £18 on the year.
