Broughton Store Lamb Sale

At Broughton Mart on Tuesday 24^th August, Harrison & Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of store sheep, with a busy ringside of buyers present, ensured all vendors left highly delighted with the day’s trading, with all classes in demand.

Top price of the day was  pen of 10 Beltex lambs from Messrs Whittaker, Scalderkew, Gosforth, selling to £90 per head, following on with another pen at £84. The same home also sold a pen of Cheviot Mule wether lambs to £86.

Smaller fell bred lambs also sold beyond expectations with Messrs Johnston, Fenwick selling a pen of 30 Herdwick cross Texels to £69.
