On Thursday 9th September, Borderway Mart held their Lazonby and Carlisle combined sensational sale of North of England Mule Gimmer Shearling which attracted an increased entry of 3200 head an included several new vendors. A very pleasing sale averaged of £172.88 was achieved which sees a rise of £13.51 on the year.
The pre-sale judging was expertly carried out by Mike & Phil Wood who awarded the championship rosette to the leading pen from Messrs Harrison, Sceugh who brought forward an absolutely sensation run that topped the sale at £235 a head selling to the judging. Their run of 254 averaged an incredible £216.89.
This sale is fast becoming the premier sale of North of England shearlings in the North and each and every vendor should be congratulated on the show of sheep they presented.
