Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly sale of Store lambs on Tuesday when 1476 were forward.

Topping the sale at £182 was a Beltex cross lamb from Messrs Marston, Easegill Head, Kirkby Stephen.

Pens of lambs also sold to £175 and £166 with pens of wether lambs from this home also selling to £158 twice, and £154 twice, and a pen of 10 wether making £146.

Messrs Skidmore, Needless Hall Farm, Toronto sold a pen of nine Beltex cross wether lambs to make £154.

The consignment of 24 Beltex cross lambs from Needless Hall Farm sold to average a whopping £144.88!

Messrs Brown, Catherine Holme, Great Asby also sol a pen of three Beltex cross wether lambs to make £154, with the consignment of lambs averaging £139.23.

Messrs Millman, Brackenslack, Mauld Meaburn sold a pen of five Beltex cross wether lambs to make £150, and a pen of four wethers making £147. The consignment of 31 lambs from this home averaging £133.

The store lamb trade for all classes of lambs was unbelievable with a packed ringside of 40 plus active buyers present, and others leaving the sale empty handed.

557 Beltex cross store lambs sold to average an whopping £112.37.

14 pens and 40 lambs sold between £150-£182

31 Pens and 110 lambs sold between £130-£182.

81 pens and 525 lambs sold between £100-£182.

The whole sale store lamb average for 1476 store lambs was £92.13

Messrs Marston, Easegill Head sold their annual consignment of 321 Beltex and Texel cross lambs to average a wonderful £114.09

Mule lambs topped at £82 for a pen of 26 from Messrs Carr, Nova Scotia, Barnard Castle.

Swaledale lambs sold to £55 twice for pens of 20 & 19 lambs from Messrs Spry, Revelin Farm, Barnard Castle.
