BREED RECORD EQUALED AT LOCKERBIE
On Wednesday 22nd September, Harrison and Hetherington Ltd, hosted the annual show and sale of North Country Cheviot Hill rams at Lockerbie Mart.
The breed record was equaled by Linhope Farming Partnership’s Lot 165 Hartside Hill Alonso sired by Sorbietrees Viscount. This outstanding ram sold at £18,000 to DI Rock Farming Co, Hethpool, Wooler.
Two others sold at £10,000 firstly lot 187 Buchtrig Apollo an Elsdonburn Viagra sired ram from RJ Tweedie & Co, Buchtrig, Hownam which sold to Kelsocleugh Farming. WD Allen, Stouphill also sold at £10,000 for Lot 241 Stouphill A19398 this Badanloch Tip Top Tup caught the eye of Joyce Campbell, Armadale, Sutherland.
DI Rock Farming Co recouped some of their expenditure when they sold Lot 17 Hethpool Arnold, sired by Hethpool Wallace, for £9000 to Messrs Flintoft, Yetholm.
JM Elliot & Partners’ top ram Woodside Attraction sold for £8000 to Messrs Wilson, Beattock.
Four rams sold for £7000, first of these was Philiphaugh Estates’ Philiphaugh A18568 sired by Hethpool VIP. This ram was another to head home to Sutherland with Joyce Campbell.
Robert M Adam & Son’s Auldallan A08104 also went for the same money. This son of Auldallan X06222 was purchased by Messrs Thomson, Kelso.
Following the pattern at £7000 was Messrs Douglas of Catslackburn’s Whitehope Aviator, sired by Suisgill Vanguard and out of the Highland Show Reserve Female Champion in 2016. This ram sold to Balavil Estate, Kingussie.
Completing the quartet at £7000 was Attonburn Amazon from Bowmont Farming. This ram was sired by Heatherhope Vicious Stu and purchased by Messrs Hepburn from Hawick.
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd would like to thank vendors and purchasers for making it one of the greatest sales in the breeds history. 37 rams sold at £3000 and over.
