Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 29th September Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with a colossal show of 405 head. No other Market within a 100 mile radius with similar number forward on a weekly basis and over 40 buyers present creating a most competitive market with more calves  required to keep up with demand. Topping todays Bull section at £625 was Peastree Farm, Carlisle with an exceptional British Blue calf.  £570 was the top price Limousin from J Gilvear, Graystale.  Aberdeen Angus bulls averaged £294.78 topping at £410 from J & E Johnstone, Girthhead.  In the heifer section British Blues averaged £331.30 topping  at £510 from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown, Longtown.  Limousin heifers topped at £495 from Messrs Wilson, Gate Farm with his run of 9 heifer calves averaging £477.22.
