Kirkby Stephen Swaledale Gimmer Lamb Sale

On Friday 1^st October 2021, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their annual prize show and sale of 1,250 Swaledale Gimmer Lambs.

Topping the sale at £150 was the first prize pen of ten from Messrs Addison, West Stoney Keld, Bowes, which were bought by Messrs Caton, Otterburn Lodge, Skipton.

A great turn out of gimmer lamb buyers from Glasgow to Cornwall were in attendance, and a fantastic trade for all types and sizes of lambs prevailed.

An overall sale average of £80.75 (up £18.33) was achieved.

The pre sale show which was kindly sponsored by I’ansons, Eden Farm Supplies, H Pigney & Son and J Noel Paul & Co Accountants saw Mr Greenwood, Newlands Farm carry out the judging and awarded first place to a pen of 10 smart lambs from Messrs Addison, West Stoney Keld, Barnard Castle.
