On Monday 4th October Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store & breeding sheep.
Another quality run of store sheep was forward with trade sharper on the week and the average up £4 for a smaller and more weathered run forward. Top price of the day was paid for a pen of 15 Beltex lambs from James and Katrina Little, Guards Farm, Ireby topping the sale at £116. A massive demand for all sheep with strong forward stores very well bid for selling regularly at £88+ and small running lambs also very well sought after with small sheep selling at £78 very regularly. Many more sheep are required week on week to fulfil buyer’s demand.
Breeding sheep saw a smaller entry forward with a quieter ringside, younger ewes still well bid for but older sheep harder to cash. Ram were also very easy sold with all bar one selling.
