Borderway Store and Breeding sheep Sale

On Monday 25^th October Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store lambs and breeding ewes.

STORE SHEEP: A larger show of weathered store sheep were once again forward, with trade being every bit as sharp on the week.

All quality pens of strong and nicely bred lambs were very easily sold with very high demand, but second rate lambs were harder to sell on the week. Beltex lambs topping at £118 for a pen of 7 from Messrs Hague, Mill Street, Frizington.

Mule wether lambs proved easier sold, selling to a top of £82 for a pen from Messrs Teasdale.

BREEDING SHEEP: The breeding sheep saw a similar trade to that of the store sheep with quality selling well. Messrs Strong, Grapes Barn, Wigton selling two Herdwick ewe lambs in Aid of Brest Cancer UK charity for £120 per head to Mr G Ostle, Stonegarth, Millhouse.
